Boy Gives Away His Prized Nintendo Wii to Help Grieving Police Officers
Brady Duke, a 7-year old boy, with a big heart donated his favorite toy to the Wausau Police Department.
After learning that Detective Jason Weiland was tragically killed in a shooting last week in Weston, Wisconson, Jessica Duke said that her son felt compelled to do something.
In addition to the gaming console, he also included his favorite games – Mario Kart and Lego Star Wars. The accompanying letter said: “Dear Officers, Thank you for serving our community. You keep my family and I safe. I am sorry that one of your police brothers died. How can I help?”
“Brady’s example is one we can all follow. Thank you Brady for your love and compassion and thank you for setting the example for others in our community at the young age of 7,” the Wausau Police Department said in a Facebook post.
Last Monday, Brady visited the police station to play Wii with the officers. In return for his generosity, the police department gifted Brady a new Xbox 360.
